Caleb Cross — the prophetic voice of Truth Talk. Bold, uncompromising, and always pointing back to Eden’s blueprint and Christ’s cross, Caleb embodies the fiery watchman who calls out distortions, exposes hidden deceptions, and declares raw truth without filters.
Eliana Rivers — the seeker’s voice. Honest, curious, and sometimes hesitant, she asks the questions many listeners carry: “But doesn’t this sound harsh?” or “Isn’t grace supposed to be effortless?” Her role is to bring the human wrestle to the table so the answers land where real people live.
Together — Caleb and Eliana are narrative voices created for Truth Talk. They aren’t individual preachers but conversation partners who embody two sides we all need: conviction and curiosity. Their dynamic makes weighty biblical truth engaging, relatable, and unforgettable.

A Note on the Voices
Caleb Cross and Eliana Rivers are not literal people but narrative voices created for Truth Talk. They embody the journey every believer faces: conviction and curiosity. Caleb carries the prophetic, truth-declaring weight; Eliana gives space to the honest questions we all wrestle with. Together, they make room for Scripture to speak with both fire and tenderness.
This podcast does not target people but weighs doctrines. We believe most preachers genuinely desire to point people to God. Our purpose is simply to measure every message against Scripture and, where needed, bring correction — so that Eden’s air can breathe through again.

Is Your "Rest in Christ" Actually Spiritual Sleepwalking?
We explore the tension between resting in Christ's finished work and the call to active obedience, revealing how true spiritual rest is active alignment rather than passive disengagement.
• Rest in Christ is real but was never meant to be laziness - rest is strength, not slumber
• Jesus offers rest with a yoke - not no yoke, but the right yoke (Matthew 11:28)
• Hebrews 4:11 reveals that entering God's rest requires effort - it's active alignment
• Belief without obedience is self-deception, not authentic faith
• Jesus connected keeping His commandments with remaining in His love (John 15:10)
• "False rest is just spiritual sleep" - comfortable passivity leads to spiritual decay
• True rest involves taking His yoke through daily disciplines - not as law but as alignment
• Obedience is how rest moves - it's the active expression of genuine faith
Join us next time in episode 7 as we explore why the gate to life is narrow and why so few actually enter it.

So, caleb, can I be honest? I hear preachers say all the time, rest in Christ's finished work, and I like that. But sometimes I wonder, doesn't that make us passive? I mean, if Jesus finished it all, why does obedience or discipline matter? Isn't trying just slipping back into works?
Speaker 2:Ileana, you've just touched the nerve. Here's the truth. Rest in Christ is real, but it was never meant to be laziness. Rest isn't slumber, rest is strength. Jesus said in Matthew 11, 28,. Come to me and I will give you rest, but notice what he adds. Rest doesn't mean no yoke. It means the right yoke, his yoke.
Speaker 1:So real rest isn't doing nothing, it's being yoked.
Speaker 2:Here's the hidden layer. When the Bible warns in Hebrews 4.11,. Let us therefore make every effort to enter that rest. It's showing us something Rest isn't passive, it's active alignment. It's the rest of a branch abiding in the vine, letting the sap flow. Without that alignment, what people call rest is just sleepwalking towards destruction.
Speaker 1:But Caleb, I've also heard don't worry about obedience, it'll come naturally. Right believing leads to right living, Isn't that safe?
Speaker 2:Here's the forbidden insight Hyper-grace turns rest into a trap. It says stop worrying about obedience, just believe. But belief without obedience is deception. Jesus said in John 15, 10, if you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love. No obedience, no abiding, and without abiding there's no life. So what happens? People sit in churches declaring I'm resting, while their faith rots. That's not Eden, that's the broad road dressed up with Christian slogans, so false rest is just spiritual sleep.
Speaker 1:False rest is just spiritual sleep.
Speaker 2:Yes, which brings us to the next step. Wake up, ask God to expose where rest has turned into passivity. Pray Lord, break my slumber. Take his yoke, surrender daily disciplines, not as law but as alignment. Obedience is how rest moves. Stay abiding, keep connections simple but consistent. Word, open, heart, surrendered, spirit obeyed.
Speaker 1:So rest isn't a hammock, it's a yoke. But his yoke means his strength.
Speaker 2:Exactly, that's the raw truth no filters, just freedom. And next time, in episode 7, we'll see why the gate to life is narrow and why so few actually enter it. This is Truth Talk, where filters die and truth speaks.
