A Note on the Voices
Caleb Cross and Eliana Rivers are not literal people but narrative voices created for Truth Talk. They embody the journey every believer faces: conviction and curiosity. Caleb carries the prophetic, truth-declaring weight; Eliana gives space to the honest questions we all wrestle with. Together, they make room for Scripture to speak with both fire and tenderness.
This podcast does not target people but weighs doctrines. We believe most preachers genuinely desire to point people to God. Our purpose is simply to measure every message against Scripture and, where needed, bring correction — so that Eden’s air can breathe through again.

The Misunderstood Cross: How God's Wrath Works in Light of Grace
God's wrath—has it vanished, or just found a new address? This question strikes at the heart of contemporary Christianity where comfortable half-truths often replace biblical realities.
When someone says, "God isn't angry anymore, just rest in his finished work," it sounds reassuring. But what if this popular teaching misses something profound? John 3:36 delivers a sobering wake-up call: "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him." This scripture challenges our comfortable narratives with a stark truth—divine wrath hasn't disappeared.
The cross represents not God winking at sin, but the full storm of divine judgment crashing down on Jesus instead of us. "Outside of Christ, wrath remains. Inside Christ, wrath was absorbed." This distinction transforms how we understand both salvation and sanctification. Even more revolutionary is the connection between rest and obedience. True spiritual rest isn't passive slumber but active strength to walk in righteousness. As we explore the original Greek word "apetheo" from John 3:36—meaning unbelief proven through disobedience—we discover that genuine faith inevitably produces obedience.
What does this mean for your spiritual journey? If obedience never materializes in your life, scripture doesn't diagnose this as weak faith but as no faith at all. The distorted "hyper grace" message that encourages believers to "despise God's commands while claiming his comfort" creates the perfect conditions for deception. Your relationship with Christ isn't defined by passive belief but active abiding. Join us next time as we discover why holiness isn't a burden but the very atmosphere of Eden that humans were designed to thrive within. Subscribe now to continue this journey where filters die and truth speaks.

Caleb, last time in episode 9, you said lawlessness prepares hearts for Antichrist. But I've always heard God isn't angry anymore. The cross took away wrath, so just rest in his finished work. But then I read John 3.36, and honestly it shook me.
Speaker 2:Read it for us Eliana, Let the Word speak.
Speaker 1:Read it for us, Eliana. Let the Word speak, Caleb. That sounds terrifying.
Speaker 2:And it should sober us. Here's the truth. God's wrath hasn't evaporated. Outside of Christ, wrath remains Inside Christ. Wrath was absorbed. The cross wasn't God winking at sin, it was the storm of wrath crashing down on Jesus so Eden's gate could open again. Romans 5.9 says we are saved from wrath through him.
Speaker 1:But Caleb doesn't resting in his finished work mean I don't need to worry about obedience.
Speaker 2:Here's the hidden layer Rest isn't slumber, it's strength to walk. Hebrews 4.11 says let us make every effort to enter that rest. How? By abiding. And Jesus defined abiding in John 15 10. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love. Abide equals obey. Rest without obedience is just a nap on the broad road to destruction.
Speaker 1:But Caleb in John 3, 36,. Some Bibles say does not believe and others say does not obey. Which one is right?
Speaker 2:Both the Greek word there is apetheo unbelief proven by disobedience. So if obedience never shows up, it's not weak faith, it's no faith at all. You can say I believe a thousand times, but if you live in rebellion, scripture calls that unbelief and that's why wrath remains.
Speaker 1:So to rest is to obey, to believe is to obey. You can't separate them.
Speaker 2:Exactly. And here's to forbidden insight Hyper grace flips the gospel. It tells you to despise God's commands while claiming his comfort. That's not rest, it's rebellion, and rebellion is the atmosphere Antichrist breathes. Wrath hasn't disappeared. You're either under it or you're in the one who bore it.
Speaker 1:So abiding in Jesus isn't optional, it's survival.
Speaker 2:Yes, that's the raw truth. No filters, just freedom. And then episode 11, we'll see why holiness isn't a burden, but the very atmosphere of Eden itself. This is Truth Talk, where filters die and truth speaks.
